It is not a secret that my family and I are Christians. We have not been this way for very long because of certain situations that happened in our lives, but once we decided to give our lives to Christ, we stumbled upon a new genre of movies.
Pure Flix is a Christian Based movie company that has made tons of movies to help understand and incorporate our Faith in everyday life lessons. They bring about the word of God in a funny and sometimes serious manner, but either way, when you finish watching the movie, you are left walking away questioning your own morals in life as defined by religious view.
This world has lost its way in life. We have become engulfed in a world of advertising and commercialism. Everyday seems as if there is never enough time to complete everything we need to complete, so our lives become busy and rushed and very rarely do we have time to stop and understand the greater reason for why we are here.
In this movie, "God's Not Dead", Kevin Sorbo is a University Professor of Philosophy, but what is revealed to us early on is that, Sorbo's role is also that of an Atheist.

This movie has many story lines that are easily followed to show that God, is in fact, Alive. It is when Sorbo meets Josh Wheaton (Shane Harper), that the battle of reality begins. Throughout the movie, I was on the edge of my seat, waiting for the next interaction to show proof of how God is NOT dead.

The passion and ferocity of conviction come well into play within this movie. If you are a believer, I encourage you to watch this movie and if your are a non-believer, I encourage even more so to watch this movie. God is put on trial and the Atheist Professor is Judge and Jury. How will the battle prevail?
Also in this movie is new Christian Pop Rock Stars, Newsboys, for their equally represented song, "God's Not Dead".

The only thing is, atheists do not act at all like the jerk in the movie...That is how I see most Christians acting...but of course, to make a villain, they had to do it the only way they knew how...by making him forceful, angry, and needlessly vicious...They make him seem irrational, and like he hates god, which while feasible, simply by the fact that an atheist sees god the way everyone sees Voldemort from the Harry Potter series(meaning, fictional, but worth all the spite and hate, as they killed so many innocent men, women, and children, and act VERY Hitler-esque in their stories. Even if not in real life, that DOES make them characters worth hating.)
ReplyDeleteI saw the trailer. Not impressed. It's going to be one big strawman after another. I laughed when I saw a philosophy professor start a class by stating "..let's skip past the useless debate...". He'd be out of a job the next day. This movie is based on that poorly written essay that's been on the web called "The Atheist Professor vs. the Student". More religious propaganda to mask the fact there is zero empirical evidence for their god, or any god for that matter. Desperate attempts like this one only support my decision to deconvert from such unsupported, and evidenceless nonsense. I can't believe that I actually was gullible enough to believe all those fairytales.
