Review: Dunham Swivel Stools

Have you ever purchased an item that you really liked only to find out later that it was not at all worth the money you spent on it?

That is what happened with us when we purchased our Dunham Swivel Stools almost 2 months ago. We did not research any stools online beforehand but knew that we wanted some for the bar in our new house. We decided to take a family day and check out a different area in our new state. We ended up browsing through several stores and finally ended up at Bed, Bath and Beyond.

I fell in love with these stools because of the crisscrossed back and swivel seats. Not to mention, the colors matched my kitchen area perfectly. They had several put together for display and we even checked them over several times along with a few other stools.

This stylish, contemporary swivel stool has a cross back design and black finished metal frame. Easy care micro-fiber seat with poly woven cushioning. Upholstery is made of 70% polyester / 30% cotton. Fill is 100% polyurethane foam. Seat and back allow 360° swivel for convenience. Includes a fixed height foot ring for support. Legs include non-marring floor caps for stability. 300-pound capacity. Wipe clean. Easy assembly. Imported. Sizes: 24" and 30".

We decided to purchase 2 of the 30" stools that day for our bar at $59.99 ea.

While these stools are beautiful, they don't seem to hold up under normal use. We have had our stools for almost 2 months and have had to constantly put the screws back in or re-tighten them. Our children are the only ones that use them and the stools can't even stand up to that task. The legs are bending and pieces are breaking off where the stools have been welded together.

As you can see in this picture, the leg is bent because the screws have come out, once again.

The screws constantly come out making the legs loose and the center ring fall out.
This is what happens whenever we move the stools. The legs fall off because the screws will not stay tightened down.

While these are beautiful stools and have a really nice design and color scheme, they are not worth the price or the hassle that comes with owning them. However, if you are just wanting them for decoration and not to ever actually use them, then they would be perfect.

While we do not like having to give a negative review, we do however always give our honest opinion. We personally purchased these stools and were not given any compensation or items for this review.
